Trip to the Vet

I should have known that nothing good was in store for me ....this was not a typical Saturday morning!

My mom brought out the carrier - if I was thinking I would have know to run and hide. But I was tricked by some sweet talk and before I knew it - locked in the carrier. Not impressed - I find this mode of transportation very undignified, in fact (as you can see) I could not even bring myself to look at the camera.  My freedom and authority was taken from me but I still did not suspect what was to come....

We arrived at the Vet's by taxi - during the drive I tried to plead my case to the taxi driver, but he wouldn't listen - I made absolutely sure he would hear me - but still he wouldn't listen.  The reception area at the Vet was quiet for a change; just me and a labradoodle - he came over to inspect my carrier and flaunt his ability to roam freely!  I wasn't scared yet - in fact I came out of my carrier and sat on my mom's shoulder - we inspected the toys that were for sale and then I let the girls at reception be delighted by my blue eyes.  They also agreed the Archer was a great name for me.

Eventually I was called into the examination room.  Dr. Teeger seemed happy to see me.  First thing - check my weight - I was not sure that the scale was accurate...

and I expressed my displeasure.....

Perhaps I should have tried charm instead because there was no hesitation when he brought out the needles - yes plural - not one but two needles (how could this be happening). You think two needles is rough? Next he cut my nails - front and back!  I decided to hiss and let him know who was boss - but again my plans worked against me.  It was my intention to intimidate Dr. Teeger (the same as I do Nigel) but once I opened my mouth (wide) in preparation for an awe inspiring hiss - he thought I was asking for my teeth to be inspected!! Well, my teeth are fine, but gums are a bit red....

Eventually I came home; safe for another year.  My mom must have felt quite a bit of guilt over the trauma I had endured - she went to Petsmart.  I now have a new crinkle tunnel, a water fountain, and a new mat in front of the litter box!! All is well that ends well!

  1. Love the new story!!!! The picture of him facing away from the camera while in the carrier is just too funny! And yes, isn't guilt a wonderful thing - Victoria and Scarlett have all gotten new toys after visits to the doctor/vet!!! Nigel seemed like he really enjoyed the carrier - that might be his new safe spot!

I'm guessing you've added some pictures since the last time I was on the blog! Love the one of Archer chatting with the squirrel and the new toy he found in your closet - now that's a Scarlett move!! Still my favourite is the one where the two of them are curled up into a little ball together - so sweet!

Great to see new pics of Archer and Nigel! - Marie
